Last night, while recovering from allergies and wishing I could afford a doctors' visit in order to obtain a prescription for an asthma inhaler* - it occurred to me the perfect solution for America's current healthcare crisis: Dont' Get Sick.
Hear me out - the Don't Get Sick plan will work! It guarantees healthcare for all citizens, yet does not require politicians to risk offending their corporate masters.
By not getting sick and avoiding accidents, Americans can ensure that they will not lose their financial nest egg. By not getting sick, the working class can keep paying premiums, but not force insurance companies to pay for doctors or medicine. By not getting sick, we can prevent people from dying while haggling with the claims department to fund a critical operation.
Since citizens won't be needing life-saving medicine, operations, check-ups or blood-tests; the cost of healthcare will be practically zero. A price everyone can afford!
