Cynthia McKinney Severs Ties with Democrats |

For the longest time Greens have been discussing Cynthia's situation and many have argued that in order for her to get the Green Party support she will need to make a choice.  In the past few month Cynthia has traveled throughout the US and held fundraisers put on by Greens to retire her last campaign debt which was accomplished a few weeks ago. But time and again Greens ask, why are we helping a Democrat? They are not doing anything for us. In fact it is the Democrats, lead by their progressive arm that is constantly trying to prevent the Greens to participate in the political process.
Here in North Carolina it was the Democrats that defeated HB88 last legislative session, a bill that would have given North Carolina citizens more voting choices by making it easier for independent and 3d party candidate to qualify for ballot access. Well finally Cynthia is taking actions and is leading the charge for progressives Democrats that have had enough. I say way to go and it's about time! Now if she starts to encourage people that quit the Democrats to organize in the Green Party she will become the leader the Green's been waiting for. I say Cynthia, you took the first step now show your colors and join the Greens which have been your strongest allies in the past years! |
