This is the Meet & Greet thread. Introduce yourself here. I'll start. My name is Paul -V-, and I'm the owner of this site. I make my living as a web consultant for a company in Asheville, North Carolina. Brainshrub.com is my way of giving back to the progressive community. I enjoy blogging, rock climbing, and good beer. As a hobby, I study public transit systems and collect route maps from other cities. As of this post, I have no pets other than an aloe plant named Ralph. However, I have a special affinity for dogs, and I volunteer to temporarily adopt puppies through Brother Wolf Canine Rescue.I also volunteer for WPVM, a local community radio station. That's me in a nut-shell. Now it's your turn.

I'm Arratik. That's my name, and that's what I am. I'm a contributor to and co-administrator of a local political blog called Scrutiny Hooligans. By trade I'm a production planner for a multinational manufacturing concern. I go to night school in the midst of all this, double-majoring in American history and political science. Because, you know, I'd rather not be a production planner. Let's see... what else... um... I have a cat! His name's Proxy, and he adopted us last winter. Here's a picture:

Okay, I am Bill. I am a Radiologic Technologist, which is a $5 word for X-ray Tech. I drive my Honda Element (actually the company's) all over W. North Carolina taking x-rays at nursing homes, prisons, doctor's offices, private homes, stadiums and even once at the airport. If you see a black Honda Element that says X-Ray on the side in Henderson, Buncombe, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, McDowell, Haywood, or Transylvania counties... and sometimes even Lincoln, Gaston, Burke, or even further east (God help me!)... it is probably me. Wave your middle finger so I know I am number 1 with you!
There is more, but I am tired, having just got home from getting my grandmother admitted to hospital after she had a minor MI.
At 89, any heart thing is not minor.
Oy. Tomorrow should be a pip.

Kai Schwandes, born and educated in Germany, business owner (fancy word for always broke), horticulturist by training (fancy word for gardener), father of one (yes I am a breeder), single , write for brainshrub.com (poorly), and lately have adopted Kurt Vonnegut's philosophy that we have pushed this planet past the point of no return - so hang on for the ride, it's going to be a wild on!
